For the Kid With Big Energy, Big Feelings, or Big Nerves

Some kids are shy. Some kids are wild. Some kids need help listening. Some kids need a little more confidence before walking into a classroom.

That is exactly why we built our toddler program.

At Del Mar Jiu-Jitsu Club, kids are guided with patience, structure, and encouragement so they can learn how to move, listen, participate, and grow at their own pace.

Why toddlers love it

It Feels Like Play. But They're Learning the Whole Time.

At this age, kids learn best through movement, repetition, and encouragement. Our toddler classes use age-appropriate Jiu-Jitsu games and drills to help kids practice coordination, balance, listening, taking turns, and trying hard things without pressure.

FAQ

Is my child too young for Jiu-Jitsu?+

Not if the class is designed for their age. Our toddler classes are built around movement, listening, games, and simple Jiu-Jitsu concepts appropriate for 3-5 year olds.

What if my child is shy?+

That is completely normal. Some kids jump right in. Others need time to observe, warm up, and build trust. We let kids grow into the class at a pace that makes sense.

What if my child has a lot of energy?+

Perfect. The goal is not to shut that energy down. The goal is to help them learn how to use it with control, awareness, and respect.

Does my child need experience?+

No experience is needed. This class is designed for beginners.

What should my child wear for the trial?+

Comfortable athletic clothing is fine for the first class.

Do parents stay and watch?+

Parents can be present, but our goal is to help kids build independence and confidence on the mat with the coaches.
